STOP Red-Light Running
Red light, green light is a great game for kids. The person who is the light stands in front of the other players and says “red light” or “green light.” On “green light,” the other players run towards the light. On “red light,” the other players have to stop. If a player runs on “red light,” they are out. In real life, red-light running can turn deadly. In 2018, 846 people were killed in crashes that involved red light running (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS)). Nearly half of those killed were victims of red-light runners. Namely, pedestrians, bicyclists, and people in other vehicles. In 2018, IIHS estimates that 139,000 people were injured in red-light running crashes.
