A golf cart accident is not the only danger on golf courses. Players should exercise extra caution due to COVID-19. On April 8th, per Governor Sisolak’s directive, all golf courses were closed. On May 1, golf courses were allowed to reopen. As of June 26, golfers must follow the face covering rule. Golfers must wear a face covering when entering a pro shop or golf clubhouse. Golfers do not need to wear a face covering if:
- Strict social distancing is practiced while playing outdoors.
- Riding one person to a cart or two people from the same household to a cart.

- Bring your own water bottle. Golf courses have removed drinking stations. Fill up your water bottle at home. Avoid drinking from other containers.
- Be flexible with the bunkers. Most courses have removed the rakes from bunkers. Adjust by using your shoe to smooth any lines or markings.
- Avoid the handshake. Use creativity with sportsmanship. A thumbs-up or a wave from a safe distance can show camaraderie.
- Pack extra supplies. Avoid unnecessary sharing of equipment by making sure you have enough tees and balls.
- Keep your distance. Maintain at least six feet of distance between yourself and others.
- Do not remove the flagstick. As of 2019, you now have the option to leave the flagstick in when putting. Embrace the rule and avoid touching the flagstick when putting.
