Anthem Injury Lawyers’ Partner Whit Selert Argued Before the Ninth Circuit
San Francisco, CA (March 2, 2020) – Partner at personal injury law firm Anthem Injury Lawyers, Whitney (“Whit”) Selert, appeared before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Selert argued on the behalf of the Clark County Department of Aviation in an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) case, Lezama v. Clark County (9th Cir. Case No. 19-15447).
Selert previously won summary judgment on behalf of Clark County and the Clark County Department of Aviation in the district court against Lezama, an employee who brought an ADA claim against the County. Lezama appealed, and an argument was held before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
The Clark County Department of Aviation is part of the government of Clark County, Nevada. The McCarran International Airport and the four general aviation facilities in the Clark County Airport System are owned by Clark County. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit is a federal court of appeals that has appellate jurisdiction.
